Arsenal ‘will get’ £ 25m star if deal is sanctioned at the Emirates – GiveMeSport

Arsenal will succeed in welcoming Leicester City star Youri Tielemans to the Emirates Stadium if they head to the negotiating table, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Gunners may have missed out on qualifying for the Champions League last season, having finished two points adrift of the Premier League’s top four, but that has not stopped boss Mikel Arteta splashing the cash during the transfer window.

What’s the latest news involving Tielemans?

Jacobs has previously told GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with Tielemans ahead of a potential swoop.

The central midfielder has been a long-term target for the Gunners, with a transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealing internal discussions have been held since the turn of the year.

Tielemans has entered the final 12 months of his £ 120,000-per-week contract at Leicester and, as a result, is available for a cut-price fee ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline.

Due to the uncertainty over the 25-year-old’s future, the Foxes are keen to cash-in and have set a £ 25million price tag as they would prefer not to see one of their prised assets walk away from the King Power Stadium for nothing next summer.

But Arsenal’s delay in getting a deal over the line has resulted in Manchester United being put on red alert, with the Red Devils’ new boss Erik ten Hag being a fan.

What has Ben Jacobs said about Tielemans?

Jacobs believes Arsenal will succeed in luring Tielemans to north London if they truly want to sign the Leicester man.

The journalist understands the delay in negotiations is not down to interest from other suitors or the Belgian.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “I think, with Tielemans, Arsenal don’t have competition so much as a decision to make because if Arsenal want Tielemans, they will get Tielemans. It’s as simple as that.

“It’s Arsenal’s decision rather than other suitors or Tielemans that have delayed or cooled this particular transfer.”

Why is Tielemans of interest to Arsenal?

Tielemans, a 52-cap Belgium international, has certainly made his mark on English football and has already written his name into the Leicester history books.

He scored what proved to be the winner as the Foxes won the FA Cup for the first time in their history last year, while the former Monaco man followed that up by registering 12 goal contributions in 50 appearances during the 2021/22 campaign.

Statistics show Tielemans averaged more goals, pressures and blocks than current Arsenal central midfielders Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga per 90 minutes last season, so it is easy to see why he is on Arteta’s radar.
